Job Title: Welder/Fitter Department: Manufacturing

Location: 531 Old Swede Road - Douglassville, Pennsylvania 19518 | This position is on-site, and we are looking for people who share our passion for teamwork. Teamwork makes the steel beam work!

Salary: Competitive starting hourly rate | based on qualifications and experience.

Work Schedule: Full-time hours, Monday-Friday 5:00am-1:30pm, OT hours as available

What You'll Do:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics (your maps to success).
  • Fabricate and assemble structural and machine components.
  • Perform SMAW (stick), FCAW (flux core), and GTAW (TIG) welding processes.
  • Adjust and set welding equipment properly (because welding blindfolded isn't our style).
  • Produce quality welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment like a pro.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace (Safety First, Steel Second!).
  • Engage in cross-training and continuous development because staying sharp is part of the gig.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proficient in welding (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW) and equipment use; able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Certifications: AWS D1.1/D14.1 certifications preferred (but not required - we'll help you level up).
  • Physical Readiness: Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and operate heavy equipment safely.
  • Communication: Strong English skills (reading, writing, speaking - no smoke signals needed).
  • Work Ethic: Hard-working, reliable, detail-oriented, and aligned with ACECO's mission, vision, and values.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Industrial shop environment with exposure to machinery, moving parts, welding fumes, and fabrication noise.
  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, lifting, bending, and working with hands/tools.
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required and provided
